Cheap but safe hotel in Philadelphia - not too far from the Blue Horizon Venue?

I'm going to a boxing show at the Blue Horizon in Philadelphia and wish to find a cheap hotel. I heard that the area where the venue is is very rough and dangerous therefore would need a cheap hotel that is safe to move about in. Can anyone suggest one for me? The hotel Carlyle use to be at 15th %26amp; Popular..oh wait that one burned down when to prostitutes got into a fight and set it on fire...shows you the type of neighborhood it is in. there are no cheap hotels in downtown Philly except the sleazy ones where ull share a bathroom with the rest of the floor. Your either going to pay for the room or the long cab ride from a decent hotel. check out the best western at 21st and Callohill, its about 10 mins away near the art musem area..
To the best of my knowledge, there are no hotels in the vicinity of the Blue Horizon, which is not exactly the greatest of neighborhoods. Your best bet is to stay in a hotel in Center City and simply take a 10 minute cab ride up Broad Street to the Blue Horizon.
